How to optimize your store for SEO

Building up a beautiful website is great - but not enough. Your efforts to build such a nice website will not bring many results as expected if customers cannot find your store through Google or any search engine. Therefore, it should be your top priority to improve the store’s search engine rankings and make your products more searchable to customers.

Let's take advantage of our SEO optimization guide below, and drive your website to the top of search results.

SEO Tags

Keywords are often-searched words that people enter in search engines to find what they want. To rank higher in search results, you should put keywords that are both related to your product or service, and looked up frequently by customers in the search query in your content. Page titles, meta descriptions, alt text, and the body content of the page are the four main places you can add keywords to optimize SEO for your eCommerce store.

Next, we will walk you through the steps to update the SEO settings on Shopify and EcomSolid.

Site Speed

Your site's images and content directly impact the loading speed. Here's a checklist to avoid overloading them.

  • Make sure your images are compressed and in the right format. We recommend you use .JPG files for better efficiency.
  • Minify the number of third-party apps you install. We recommend you to use our built-in or third-party add-ons that have been optimized to run with EcomSolid.

Lazy Loading

Sales Booster Add-ons

Lazy Loading speeds up your website by delaying images to load until the visitor scrolls down to them. This practice will make the site load faster, thus improve your SEO rankings.

EcomSolid currently supports Lazy Loading on all pages. So the only thing you have to do is sit back, and relax.
