How to link a page to your store menu in EcomSolid


In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps to link any URL to your store menu (Header and Footer) in the form of a menu item.


Get the page URL

Visit the live page you want to link to your store, and copy the page’s URL. We’ll link this URL to the page’s navigation in the next steps.


Link the URL to navigation in the Editor

Note: If you want to link your store policies to the menu, add the corresponding handle to your store domain. Shopify supports displaying 4 policies as below:

  • Refund policy: /policies/refund-policy
  • Privacy policy: /policies/privacy-policy
  • Terms of service: /policies/terms-of-service
  • Shipping policy: /policies/shipping-policy

Here's an example to add the shipping policy to your store Footer:


Step 1: Go to the EcomSolid Dashboard and enter the Editor.


Step 2: In the Editor, select either the Header or the Footer section to start linking your page.


The Header section presets will include drop-down menus with sub-menus (depending on each presets), while the Footer presets will not have sub-menu items, some presets are not designed with menus at all.

Step 3: Look for the purple “Edit Menu” button on the left sidebar. If your current Footer present doesn’t have the button, this means the preset is not designed to have menu items, in this case, change to another preset.

Once you’ve located the “Edit Menu” button, click on it to open a new customization panel.

Step 4: In the new panel, you’ll see a list of all available menus. Select the menu you would like to edit and hit the chain icon to start linking it.


*Depending on the layout, some presets might have multiple menus to edit.

Step 5: A new Edit panel will appear, paste the URL of the destination page in the Link field. You can also edit the menu’s title in this step.

You can also search for the page right from inside the Editor. Simply hit “Pick a link” and start searching for the page.

Step 6: Hit “Save” when done to save the changes and exit the panel.

Step 7: When everything is in place, hit “Update Live” and “Yes, Update” to bring the changes to your front store!
