How to create an Article Page with EcomSolid

This article will guide you through the steps to create and customize an article page with EcomSolid.

What is an Article Page?

A blog post/article is a standalone publication or journal for an online store that includes short posts or articles about the store’s products, services, or any related subjects. They are organized by their publish date, and you’ll often find them having a separate comment section for reader-author interactions.

By using EcomSolid, you can create an article page template to display the blog post created from your Shopify Admin in minutes.

Create your article from your Shopify Admin

Before we start, you will need to create a blog post from your Shopify Admin. Check out this link from Shopify for the instructions step-by-step. 

Design your article template with EcomSolid

Step 1: From the EcomSolid Dashboard, head to the Theme Editor


Step 2: Click the dropdown menu from the top bar and select “Article pages.”


Please keep in mind that the Theme Builder article template will be applied to all your Shopify blog posts. Consider using the Page Builder if you only want to build a template for a specific blog article.

Step 3: Locate the Article section on the left sidebar of the Editor page. 


If you don’t have one, please go to the Library > Sections > Article and insert your preferred Article section to your page.


Click on the section to start configuring the settings. 

Step 3: Scroll down to the Blog Post Content section and hit “Pick an article.” The article picker window will appear for you to choose one from the list to see how it will be displayed within the template. 


Step 4: You also have the option to further style the comment section at the bottom of your page.

Blog Posts Comment Section

Enable Or Disable Blog Posts Comment  Section

In Shopify, blog posts belong to a blog, you can enable or disable the comment section for a blog, and the option will apply to all of its blog posts. The steps are as follows:
Step 1: Go to Shopify Admin > Blog posts and select "Manage Blog" on the right-hand side.
Step 2: Select a blog to start editing it.
Step 3: In the Comments section on the right side, select one out of 3 available options:

  • Comments are disabled: Disable the comment section
  • Comments are allowed, pending moderation: The comment section is enabled, but all comments will have to be approved by you first.
  • Comments are allowed and are automatically published: The comment section is enabled, and all comments will be published as soon as they are submitted by viewers.


Hit "Save" before you exit.

Manage Comments

To manage your blog posts' comments, go to Shopify Admin > Blog posts and select “Manage Comments”.
You can see all of your comments, Approve, Mark/Unmark as spam, or Delete them.
